Prof. Hiroshi Yamada of the Department of Advanced Energy delivered his final lecture, titled “Exploring Fusion Science and the Concept of ‘Kiwa (際)’ ”, at the Kashiwa Campus. The event was well attended, with many participants joining both in person and online. In his lecture, Prof. Yamada shared a  comprehensive overview of his lifelong engagement with fusion science, from his early days as a student to his latest contributions. Following the lecture, a commemorative party was held, where attendees shared memories with Prof. Yamada in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Prof. Yamada will be the position of Director of the National Institute for Fusion Science in April 2025. We sincerely wish him continued success in this new chapter of his career.
